How is it calculated?

Going from level L to L+1 needs 75 × (2L + 1) profession experience points.

Each recipe has an official base XP (the one earned with Booster). It's paid in full while your profession doesn't exceed the recipe's level by more than 10; between 10 and 20 levels above, XP progressively drops to zero. You can't make recipes above your own level.

"Fewer materials" picks, at each level, the recipe with the most XP per raw material (weighting rarities and monster drops), counting the XP of the intermediate refined items you craft yourself. "Fewer crafts" picks the one that gives the most XP per craft, including intermediates and other professions'. Other professions' components are broken down into raw materials, counted as a material, or avoided, depending on the chosen option.
